Today for my blog I am going to write about my book.
Introduction Response:
I am reading The Thirteenth Reason by Jay Asher. This book is a Young Adult fiction which is a non-factual book that is written geared towards the 14-21 year old range. This book's theme is that everyone is responsible for their own actions. this theme is understood after she tells everyone about how everyone's actions led her to take her own life but in the end she was really the only one that made her take her own life.
Summary Response:
Thirteen Reasons Why takes place in a small town amongst all of the town's local places. Like the high school, the local diner and park and a bunch of kids houses. Involved in this is Hannah Baker the one narrating through the tapes and the one that took her life. She is the main character besides Clay Jenkins who is the one that is listening to the tapes throughout the book. Hannah Baker and clay are both 16. The conflict in the book is that Hannah Baker took her life a couple of weeks ago and recorded tapes that explained why she took her life. When finished she passed them around amongst the people who did caused everything. Well one of those people, Clay Jenson, received them and had no clue why. He happened to be the only one that was on there for a good reason. He was actually in love with Hannah but would never tell her and the tapes told him that she loved him also. But Clay is now finding out all of these horrible things that happened to her.
Well...besides my literary response things did happen in school today. I got to school at the normal time and did the normal thing, school. I did not get much accomplished because Hunter and I have been working on a Chemistry assignment about Lewis Dot Structures and Intermolecular Forces that I swear is going to be the death of both of us. We got almost all of the way through it except for explaining the geometric shapes for the structures and by that time it was time for lunch. Today lunch is being provided to us by Pizza by the Sea due to Mrs. McGehee, an FLVS Math teacher's visit. She is Alyssa and Hannah's math teacher and has been for the past two years. She is so nice and came to eat with us and watch us play kickball.
Kickball was very disappointing today because our team lost for the second time. I know what happened and we are working on trying to fix it.
Well after that it was music where we almost completely finished learning Gives You Hell by The All-American Rejects. It is sounding really good which is a great thing seeing as how we have a concert in a month and a half.
Cleaning and check-Out is all that is left so I will check in with you Monday!
